Management and Science University (MSU) proudly hosted its 34th Convocation Ceremony on the 7th and 8th of December at the MSU Chancellor Hall in Shah Alam. Over the two-day event, 2,447 graduates from 126 academic programmes received their scrolls, marking a significant milestone in their academic journeys. 

The convocation comprised four sessions, with degrees awarded across various levels: 35 doctorates (PhD), 65 master’s degrees, 1,596 bachelor’s degrees, and 751 diplomas.

Sun Hong Wen Qi from China, Bachelor in Beauty and Hair Management (Hons)  

My time at MSU has been a very positive experience. It allowed me to meet people from various countries and cultures. The classes were well-organised, and the lecturers were always helpful and supportive, especially towards international students. 

What makes Malaysia unique is its diversity. People from different cultures coexist in one place, giving me the chance to interact with individuals from various backgrounds. The international learning experience helped me overcome cultural and language barriers, enabling me to make new friends and build a network with people across the country. 

During my time at MSU, I developed important values such as being open-minded and accepting different perspectives and ideas. This has helped me view situations from new angles, fostering creativity and better problem-solving skills. 

 

 

Farhiya Mohammad Hussein from Somalia, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) 

My experience at MSU was truly lovely. Everyone I met was kind, helpful, and welcoming. 

One key takeaway from my time in Malaysia is the high quality of education. What I learned here can be applied locally in Somalia, making it very practical and relevant. 

During my time in Malaysia, I became more independent, social, brave, and resilient. Living alone taught me many life lessons that shaped who I am today. 

 

 

Tulwakhat Abdul Majid Hashim from Tanzania, Bachelor in Cardiovascular Technology (Hons)  

My experience at MSU has been transformative. I have significantly improved my communication skills and had the opportunity to interact with people from diverse cultures. 

Malaysia is a fantastic country to study in, strict yet relaxed, and provides a conducive environment for learning. MSU encourages students to complete assignments early, giving us more time to relax and balance our studies. 

 

 

Hanis Ellya binti Hussin from Brunei, Bachelor in Optometry (Hons) 

Studying in Malaysia for the past five years has been incredibly enriching, especially in terms of cultural exposure. MSU provided hands-on learning experiences, including internships at local companies and government hospitals, which were invaluable for my optometry studies. 

Coming to Malaysia opened opportunities that were unavailable in Brunei, particularly in education. Over the years, I have grown more extroverted and adventurous, learning essential soft skills such as communication, patience, and management. I would highly recommend MSU to Bruneians for its extensive course offerings and opportunities.

My learning experience at MSU has been excellent. It provided insights into real-world challenges, particularly in my field of study. 

Malaysia's diverse cultural landscape enhanced my appreciation for international education. At MSU, I developed key values such as time management, leadership, and building strong relationships. These skills have been crucial in balancing academics, social life, and preparing for the workforce.

My time at MSU has been fulfilling. Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the experiences that shaped me academically and personally.

My time at MSU has been very positive. The vibrant community and supportive lecturers helped me grow both academically and emotionally. 

MSU fosters cultural diversity, offering international students exposure to Malaysian culture and creating a dynamic learning environment. Through internships and extracurricular activities, I gained real-world experience and expanded my network. 

I encourage students to stay confident, make new friends, and remain positive, even during challenging times, as there is always a bright future ahead. 

 

Celebrating Academic Excellence 

The Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies led the celebration, presenting the highest number of graduates with 677 in total. On the other hand, the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering stood out for offering the most diverse range of programmes, with graduates from 28 different disciplines. 

Graduates came from a variety of faculties and schools, showcasing MSU’s diverse academic offerings. The Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering saw 423 graduates, while the School of Education and Social Sciences led with 496. The School of Hospitality and Creative Arts celebrated 309 graduates, followed by the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences with 189. The School of Pharmacy contributed 103 graduates, and the International Medical School proudly sent off 206 graduates.
