Management and Science University’s (MSU) School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS) organised its Education Week from June 5 to 7.
Carrying the theme of Beyond the Classroom: Exploring Innovation in Teaching and Learning, Education Week this year inspires a culture of knowledge, collaboration, creativity, and community interaction, benefiting staff and students, with a vision extending past the confined walls of conventional classrooms.
The programme’s objectives were comprehensively addressed through a series of engaging activities that raised awareness pertinent to core educational issues, trends, and opportunities. Events such as the ‘You Can Do It’ Forum, in which alumni shared their experiences with final-year students, and the Progression Talk: ‘So, What's the Next Step?’ for Foundation and Diploma students were hosted to envisage future possibilities. The accomplishments of the University’s staff and academicians were also recognised through the MSU Teacher’s Day Celebration. The SESSpreneurs Fest, on the other hand, zeroed in on nourishing an intensive entrepreneurial ecosystem among the students.
Professional development for educators and staff was facilitated through various engaging workshops, seminars, and training sessions. The Mindworks: Showcasing Tomorrow’s Educators—Academic Project Exhibition provided a platform for students to demonstrate their innovative projects and research initiatives, aligning with the objectives of showcasing educational practices within the institution. Students’ engagement was further promoted through interactive events such as the 1, 2, 3 ACTION! Competition, Explorace: Discover Your Future Competition for Foundation students, and the MSU Knowledge Knockout, specifically tailored to students from MSU Colleges and MSU Learning Centre.
The programme also catered to young participants with activities like Messy Play: Tumble Time and Little Red Riding Hood: Journey to Nanna’s House for kindergarten and preschool children, fostering hands-on early childhood educational engagement. As part of their final project, students could confidently and creatively express themselves through various forms of art with Echoes of Silence, a theatre production.
The winners for SESSpreneurs Fest; Explorace: Discover Your Future Competition; 1, 2, 3, Action! Competition; Progression Talk: So, What’s Next Step; and MSU Knowledge Knockout were announced during the MSU Teacher’s Day Celebration held at MSU’s Chancellor Hall.
