Management and Science University (MSU) has held its second MSU Quranic League open championship since the first one was organized last year.

 

Fielding four main categories of competition, MSU Quranic League 2022 was run online beginning April 4 to April 14; it closed with a prize-giving ceremony held at MSU’s Performing Arts Theatre (PAT) on campus in Shah Alam Section 13.

 

 

In the Tilawah category, MSUrians bagged all three prizes in the Inter-Varsity sub-category and both prizes each in the Adult and International sub-categories.

 

 

Inter-Varsity Tilawah announced Nur Amirah Mamat and Nurul Asyirah Ali, both Bachelor in Fashion Design with Marketing (Hons) students, respectively in first and second place; and Azman Sapri, a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology student from MSU College Sarawak, in third place.

 

Adult Tilawah awarded first place to Dr Sharifah Intan Zainun Sharif Ishak from MSU’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) and second place to ealthHeSiti Hajar Abd Rahim from MSU’s Library and Resource Centre (LRC).

 

International Tilawah placed Apriansyah first and Oka Julian Saputra second; both from MSU’s Jakarta Global University (JGU), Indonesia.

 

 

High School Tilawah presented Arasy Aqashah Faizal of Sekolah Agama Menengah Tinggi Sultan Hisamuddin, Klang in first place; Nor'aina Najihah Mohd Nasir of SMK Agama Kuala Selangor in second place; and Zulhaikal Zulkefli of Sekolah Agama Menengah Paya Jaras in third place.

 

Kid Tilawah had siblings Asma Tasneem Abdul Hakim and Ulfah Abdul Hakim, both from Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Rokam, respectively in first and third place; and Azzahra Sofiea Mohd Kamaruzaman of SK Rapat Setia in second place.

 

Inter-Varsity Al-Quran and Islamic Knowledge Quiz awarded first and second place to two groups of MSUrians; respectively Group 9 comprising Diploma in Management students Nor Elia Ezreen Azman, Nur ‘Aina Yasmin Ezanee, Nur Aina Fatiha Zahanizam, and Nur Aliah Iman Isnami, and Diploma in Information Technology student Nur Izzati Maisarah Mohd Zamrin; and Group 3 comprising Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (Hons) students Nur Ajwa Azmi, Siti Maisarah Sha’arani, and Nur Aiza Shazreen Abd Raqib, and Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) student Siti Nur Dewina Hashim.

 

 

MSU’s Sekolah Bina Ihsan (SBI) in Puchong presented two groups of winners in this category.

 

Taking first and second place respectively in Al-Quran and Islamic Knowledge Quiz were Group 1 contestants Mohammad Haziq Hairul Anuar, Luqman Hakim Husin, Adam Rahimi Rosli, Wan Muhammad Aizzat Wan Ab Rahman, and Muhammad Irfan Izudin Shah; and Group 2 contestants Nur Sakinah Imran, Nurhuraiyah Fatini Mohd Aznan, Nur Adilah Dayana Mohd Saidi, Nur Arisya Maisarah Nor Azmi, and Nur Aaleeya Maisarah Aris. Third place went to the group from SMKA Kuala Selangor.

 

SBI students also excelled in Hafazan. In the High School Selected Chapters sub-category, Nur Wasimah Azmi took first place and Muhammad Darwisy Aqil Haq Mohd Nordin took third. In second place is Fasla Nurhidayah Lamsah from SMK Agama Kuala Selangor.

 

High School Hafazan Chapter-30 sub-category awarded second place to SBI’s Barirah Abdul Aziz. In first and third place respectively are Shahrul Khairi Al-Rahim and Muhammad Zikry Mohd Nor, both from Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran al-Azhariah in Shah Alam.

 

Inter-Varsity Hafazan Chapter-30 presented Ameenur Iman Shaheezam (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) from MSU College Shah Alam in first place, Muhammad Hafiy Mohammad Hishamuddin (MSU Diploma in Islamic Finance) in second place, and Naufal Azami Saedal Atas (MSU Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons)) in third place.

 

Inter-Varsity Hafazan Chapters 1-5 has MSU’s Bachelor in Islamic Finance (Hons) student Muhammad Aqwa Ramlan in second place. First place in this sub-category was awarded to Zunnurain Zulkifli from Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam.

 

High School Hafazan Chapters 1-5 awarded first place to Muhd Azfar Khaspi of SMKA Putrajaya; second place to Puteri Nur Saffiyyah Zainal Abidin of SM Al-Islah, Sg. Petani, Kedah, and third place to Ahmad Adam Haziq Mohd Johar of SMKA Putrajaya.

 

Inter-Varsity Hafazan’s Selected Chapters sub-category awarded second place to Muhammad Iskandar Dzulfaqar Adzhar (Diploma in Management) from MSU College Sabah and first place to Anas Mazlan of Politeknik Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

 

Primary School Hafazan Selected Chapters had Muhammad Ilyas Yahya Salam from Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran al-Azhariah of Shah Alam Section 18 taking the championship title for this category.

 

Kid Hafazan Part 1 on Surah An-Naba' to Surah An-Nas saw Aisyah Yazid of Mazaher Uloom Lil Banaat taking first place, Maryam Yazid of Huffaz at-Taqwa in second place, and Muhammad Adam Hafidh Mohamad Fitri of Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran al-Azhariah in third place.

 

Hafazan Part 2 on Surah Ad-Dhuha to Surah An-Nas presented Asma Humaira Mohd Sulaiman of Madrasah Baitul Rahmah in first place, Mus'ab Umair Mohd Sulaiman of Madrasah Baitul Rahmah in second place, and Fatimah Yazid of Madrasah Baitul Rahmah in third place.

 

Adult Hafazan Chapters 1-5 had Syifaa' Wan Azahar in first place, Muhammad Khairul Razikin Abdul Razak in second place, and Meor Ahmad Hazieq Meor Abd Razak in third place.

 

Opening the MSU Quranic League 2022 prize-giving ceremony were MSU Quranic League 2021 Tilawah Champion Muhammad Hakim Yahya from the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme at MSU International Medical School (IMS); Muhammad Darwisy Aqil Haq Mohd Nordin from MSU’s Sekolah Bina Insan (SBI); and Ahmad Fawwaz Elman Suhairi @ Elmmy from Sekolah Kebangsaan Seksyen 13, Shah Alam.
