Management and Science University (MSU) held its 26th Convocation Ceremony this February, presenting 1,769 graduates from 19 countries and 87 academic programmes.

 

Forty-eight graduates received their PhDs, 34 their Master’s, 1,108 their Bachelor’s degree, and 579 their Diploma.

 

Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies contributed the most number of graduates, with 467. Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering presented the most number of programmes – eighteen, from which 113 graduated with a bachelor’s degree and twelve with a diploma. Sri Lankan graduates made the largest international group.

 

 

Four programmes presented their first batch of graduates; Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology (Honours), with twelve graduates; Bachelor in Education (Science) (Honours), with six graduates; and Bachelor in Education (Health and Physical Education) (Honours) as well as Bachelor in Music Technology (Honours), with one graduate each.

 

Forty-seven of the best graduates received special awards across five categories. 

 

 

Presenting the 26th Convocation graduation scrolls and special awards were MSU Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Mohd Nordin and MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

 

The Chancellor Gold Medal Award went to Bachelor of Education (Honours) - (TESL) Aleaa Nur Insyirah Dr Haji Alias.  

 

 

Receiving the President Award were Investment Management graduate Sruthi Susan George for the Bachelor category and Medical Laboratory Technology graduate Hani Qistina Dayana Avelino S. Cavan @ Mohd Fadil for the Diploma category.

 

 

MSU's Student Representative Council (SRC) outgoing president and now Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours) Goh Wen Jian received the Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award.  

 

 

Twenty-six from the Convo-26 Best Graduates group received the Academic Award and seventeen the Industry Award.

 

Local as well as international industry sponsors included MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC), Affin Islamic Bank, Celcom Axiata, Acer, Pharmaniaga, Puncak Niaga Holdings, Proton Holdings, Top Glove Corporation Bhd, Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Lankan Hospital Sri Lanka, Royal Chulan, Ceylon Biscuits Ltd, Bulb Communique, Cenviro Sdn Bhd, Kedah Chef Association, Maxvec Sdn Bhd, Mega Fortris, Schmidt Biomedtech, Arba Travel, and Skytrex Adventure.

 

Fifty-five graduates from among officers of the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) received their Diploma in Culinary Arts on the second day of the ceremony. In attendance were TLDM Human Resource Chief of Staff Laksamana Muda Anuar Mohamed and TLDM Education and Training Deputy Chief First Admiral Syed Ahmad Hilmi Syed Abdullah.
