Danish Haikal Asman and Mekhavatanie Maratha Pillai, respectively from the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) and the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP), are this year’s recipients of the President Award at the 27th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU).

Danish Haikal, from the Bachelor in Creative Multimedia (Hons) programme at FISE, and Mekhavatanie, from the Diploma in Accounting programme at FBMP, each receives RM15,000 in scholarship, RM2,000 in cash, and a trophy.

It is a second win for Danish Haikal, who was first bestowed the President Award as a graduate of Diploma in Multimedia at MSU’s 21st Convocation Ceremony University in August 2017. He has already broken ground with Walt Disney Studios, curating visuals in collaboration with CalaQisya for the film Raya and the Last Dragon. With a namesake freelance business empire/brand up and running, Danish Haikal hopes to inspire through his artistic creations.

Mekhavatanie, whose accounting diploma studies at MSU were aided by the Star Education Fund Scholarship she received in 2017, describes the President Award scholarship as significant help in her pursuit of a Bachelor in Accountancy (Hons) degree next. Feeling blessed and grateful for both faculty dedication and university support, without any of which the achievement might not have been possible, she is inspired to strive even harder as befits a President’s Scholar.
