Management and Science University (MSU) hosted a grand iftar in conjunction with Ihya Ramadan 2025, bringing together international and postgraduate students alongside Yayasan MSU (YM) scholars.
The programme featured the participation of over 370 international students across faculties, more than 100 postgraduates, and 100 YM scholars, who joined Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, the President and Founder of MSU and Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid, the Vice Chancellor of MSU, on March 10.
Professor Dr. Mohd Shukri extended a warm welcome and encouraged the participants to appreciate and embrace local culture, particularly through informal learning programmes such as Ihya Ramadan. He further emphasised the importance of these endeavours, which are heavily centred around cultural competence, for fostering a culture of excellence and strengthening bonds between learners and educators.
As part of its Ramadan initiatives, the MSU Postgraduate Club (PGC), comprising the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) and the Graduate School of Management (GSM), will lead the third edition of Ramadan Bright on March 20 at Asrama HALUAN Penyayang, where food supplies will be donated to those in need.
The evening also featured a RM1,000 contribution from PGC staff to Yayasan MSU, reinforcing the University’s commitment to community engagement.
The iftar engagement assembled a diverse group of international students from Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Botswana, Britain, Brunei, Cambodia, Chad, China, Costa Rica, Comoros, Egypt, Fiji, Ghana, India, Iraq, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Libya, Maldives, Mauritius, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor Leste, Türkiye, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
