Management and Science University (MSU) continued its zakat and financial assistance distribution in conjunction with Ihya Ramadan 2025, thus upholding the tradition of Giving and Grateful (2G).

MSU embarks on a daily mission of community engagement that encompasses a variety of sectors, all under the theme of One Day, One Kindness. The University prioritises the annual zakat distribution as a fundamental component that empowers education as a mobility factor for young learners.

On March 12, zakat was distributed to 868 deserving undergraduate and postgraduate students, providing financial assistance endowed by the MSU Foundation (Yayasan MSU) and Affin Islamic Berhad.

Five hundred and sixty-eight students across faculties, two MSU colleges, and the MSU Learning Centre received zakat from Yayasan MSU.

The recipients were 138 from the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP), 113 from the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE), 49 from the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS), 83 from the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), 45 from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), 44 from the International Medical School (IMS), 29 from the School of Pharmacy (SPH), one from the School of Graduate Studies, 22 from MSU College Shah Alam, 20 from the MSU Learning Centre, and 24 from the MSU College Seremban.

Three hundred students across multiple faculties at MSU received financial assistance from Affin Islamic Berhad worth RM150,000: 104 from FBMP, 74 from SESS, 45 from FISE, 27 from FHLS, 27 from SHCA, 12 from IMS, and 11 from SPH.

The evening also featured the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between MSU and Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, solidifying the shared purpose among both organisations in uplifting the community. Present were Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, President and Founder of MSU and Tuan Haji Musa Abdul Malek, Chairman of Affin Islamic Bank Berhad.

“We also extend our culture of 2G, endowment, and zakat to all our industry partners, supporting the University’s vision and mission,” Professor Dr. Mohd Shukri appreciated the involvement of industry, particularly Affin Islamic Bank Berhad’s commitment for their steady support since the establishment of MSU.
