Management and Science University’s annual zakat distribution for schools and institutions took place on March 20 at Chancellor Hall.
Zakat distribution complements Ramadan Care, one of the five central clusters of Ihya Ramadan 2025. Under the theme of One Day, One Kindness, MSU conducts and supports over 350 flagship and outreach programmes throughout the month.
The zakat, endowed by MSU Foundation (Yayasan MSU), was distributed to 1,617 students across 88 institutions in Klang Valley and Perak: secondary schools, form six colleges, vocational colleges, and matriculations.
Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, the President and Founder of MSU graced the ceremony and presented the zakat, along with Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid, the Vice Chancellor of MSU and Dato’ Rosli Yusof, the Senior Vice President Endowment & Communication.
Addressing the ceremony, Professor Dr. Mohd Shukri elucidated that in addition to fulfilling religious commitments, Ihya Ramadan at the University seeks to broaden perspectives and instil a culture of respect among MSUrians, industry partners, and communities irrespective of backgrounds.
The President also encouraged thousands of recipients to make the most of the month of Ramadan, allowing for ample opportunity for personal growth and discipline in all aspects of their lives.
