The indigenous is one of the social groups within aid focus of Management and Science University (MSU); along with orphans, the elderly, and the urban poor.  MSU Foundation’s Meals on Me (MOM) programme for the University’s less fortunate students was recently extended to the indigenous villagers on Carey and Indah islands.

The Foundation’s provisions of rice, flour, canned sardines, cooking oil, tea leaves, and sugar were meant to lessen the villagers’ burden of meeting their daily food challenge – brought on by the nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO) put in place to stem the spread of Covid-19.

Originally established to ensure fulfillment of daily nutritional needs among MSU’s underprivileged students, MOM helped put square meals on the table for fifty families on Indah Island and twenty on Carey Island as Ramadan approached its Eid-ul-Fitr celebratory end in Syawal.

Facilitated in collaboration with the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA), the MOM food aid by MSU Foundation was delivered by faculty members from the Department of Healthcare Professionals at MSU’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), who also distributed the University’s own-produced hand sanitizer.
