On May 18 and 19, the Management and Science University (MSU) campus in Shah Alam buzzed with robes and mortar boards. Ushering a new chapter for the Class of 2024, the 33rd Convocation Ceremony honoured 2253 graduates.
The four-session ceremony featured the conferral of 25 a Doctoral Degree, 42 a Master’s Degree, 1285 a Bachelor Degree, and 901 a Diploma across 128 academic programmes.
The Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies presented the highest number of graduates (838), followed by the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (527), the School of Education and Social Sciences (343), the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (299), the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (101), the School of Pharmacy (44), and the International Medical School (34).
Bachelor in International Business (Hons) at the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies contributed to the largest number of graduating students, whereas the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering produced the highest number of programmes.
The Graduate School of Management and the School of Graduate Studies at the Postgraduate Centre (PGC) presented 56 and 11 graduates, respectively.
Master in Fashion Business, Master in International Business, Bachelor in Takaful (Honours), Bachelor of Product Design (Hons), Bachelor in Broadcasting (Hons), and Bachelor in Airline Services Management (Hons) presented their first graduating cohort.
MSU Group of Colleges presented 160 Diploma and 118 Certificate graduates across 17 academic programmes.
In addition, 184 international students graduated in this cohort.
Honoured with the Chancellor Gold Medal Award was Wiksa Virijo Vicheet, a graduate of the Bachelor in Nutrition (Hons) programme from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
Farhanis Alisya Farizal received the Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award. She is a graduate of the Bachelor in Psychology (Hons) programme from the School of Education and Social Sciences.
The President Award recognised three outstanding graduates for their achievement in extracurricular activities, leadership, entrepreneurship, and sports: Lenny Juvena Azmi (Master of Business Administration at the Graduate School of Management) Kow Ee Vone (Bachelor in Industrial Management (Hons) at the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies), and Wan Nor Athirah Wan Nor Azam (Diploma in Culinary Arts at the School of Hospitality and Creative Arts).
Twenty-eight graduates received the Academic Award, while the Industry Award went to 26.
Present at the ceremony were MSU Chancellor the Regent of Kedah Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr. Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, and MSU Vice Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr. Junainah Abd Hamid.
