Management and Science University (MSU) President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid has been named the SEBA 2019 Education Entrepreneur of the Year.
This was the fourth SME Entrepreneurship Business Awards (SEBA) organized by Yayasan Usahawan Malaysia with the support of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development (MED) Malaysia.
Ninety-five awards were presented to seventy-two recipients of SEBA 2019.
Being recognized with the prestigious award puts its recipient in the top league of Malaysia’s entrepreneurs.
Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid had also received the Asia Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year award at the APEA 2017. His passion for social entrepreneurship drives MSU’s own entrepreneurship ecosystem, with MSU Jump$tart and MSU Leadership Advancement and Development (LEAD) Institute supporting cultivation of holistic, balanced, well-rounded graduates. MSU emerged Malaysia’s Most Entrepreneurial Private University in 2016.
With its increasingly integral role in society, entrepreneurship has been recognized as a key driver for national progress towards well-being and wealth, and successful entrepreneurs as role models paving a path for others to follow suit.
By the National Entrepreneurship Policy currently in place, Malaysia aims for entrepreneurial activities to account for fifty percent of the nation’s GDP by the year 2030.
