Management and Science University (MSU) bagged two gold, five silver, and four bronze medals at the 2019 edition of the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA’19).

 

With one gold medal each were the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) and the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS). Both the International Medical School (IMS) and the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS) contributed two silver medals each, while FISE clinched the fifth silver. SESS also contributed two bronze medals. Combined, FISE and FHLS bagged two more bronze.

 

 

Across the PECIPTA categories, MSU finished with seven medals in the Innovation category, three in the Commercialization category, and one in the Fundamental category.

 

PECIPTA’s Innovation awards are for innovative products, services, or technologies already in use but with one step to commercialization. For the Commercialization category, the products/services/technologies must have completed all development stages and are ready for commercialization or have already been commercialized. In the Fundamental category, the product/service/technology research must have been completed with proof of concept and also lab experiment validation.

 

MSU’s PECIPTA’19 gold medalists, respectively in the Innovation and Commercialization categories, are FISE’s Future Vision and FHLS’s AkuaRiz Gamat Extract.

Leading the silver medalists is MSU International Medical School (IMS) with Dermacol and MyCoral Underwater Seascape; both in the Commercialization category. Prior to the PECIPTA’19 win, Dermacol had bagged five gold medals (PERINTIS 2018, IICE 2018, InTEX18, ITEX 2018, ITEX 2019) whereas MyCoral had received two gold medals (PERINTIS 2018, ITEX 2019) and the Best Green Invention Award (ITEX 2019).

TILES and T-Rex the Explorer, both from SESS, brought two more silver medals through the Innovation category; both had also won a silver medal each in MTE 2019 as well as a bronze in PERINTIS 2018.

FISE’s ESP-ark, a new cellular automation method for automatic search of indoor and outdoor parking, gave MSU its fifth silver in the Innovation category. ESP-ark had bagged a gold medal for research achievement in 2019.

Three bronze medals to MSU from PECIPTA 2019’s Innovation category were for SESS’s Circus of Speech and Cogency and also FHLS’s KiSyn W Mat. Circus of Speech had won a Platinum Award at Inside UM 2019 and a bronze in PERINTIS 2018. KiSyn W Mat had bagged a silver in PERINTIS 2018 and a bronze in MPI 2018.

The fourth bronze to MSU from PECIPTA 2019 came through the Fundamental category. The invention by FISE, Secure Access to Residence and Elevator using Fingerprint, had clinched a bronze as well in PECIPTA 2018.
