Management and Science University (MSU) student and Yayasan MSU scholar Mohd Syahidan Alias has bagged first runner-up at the AIA SCORE Marathon 2022 meet in Putrajaya. He clocked an hour 59 minutes and 53 seconds nett time in the 30km category.
Taking to Twitter to express pride at representing the University as MSU’s Sports Ambassador, the Head Coach to the MSU Athletics Team had begun studies on the Bachelor in Education (Physical Education and Health) (Hons) programme early this year at the School of Education and Social Sciences (SESS) under scholarship from Yayasan MSU.
The 30km run is part of a structured training plan ahead of the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) 2022, in which Edan Syah is set to compete as his 34th marathon.
Whilst the SCSM is a World Athletics Gold Label Road Race held annually on the first Sunday in December, the AIA SCORE Marathon is currently the sole locally organized Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group Qualifier Event certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
Having qualified 30 times for the most prestigious among the Abbott World Marathon Majors, Mohd Syahidan Alias is also set to compete at the Boston Marathon for the third time.
