Management and Science University (MSU) gathered medical and health care academicians and industries as well as clinical practitioners at the inaugural MSU International Conference on Inter-Professional Education (MICIPE).

 

Organized in conjunction with MICIPE was the International Conference on Reproductive Health and Infectious Diseases (ReHID) by MSU International Medical School (IMS).

 

MICIPE 2019 carried the theme of ‘Professionally Together for Better Health Care’ whilst ReHID 2019’s was ‘Shaping the Future Reproductive Health Landscape’.

 

Present besides the Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia Dr Lee Boon Chye was Deputy Director-General of Health (Medical) Datuk Dr Hj Rohaizat Yon and Director-General of Selangor State Health Department (JKNS) Dato’ Dr Khalid Ibrahim. International speakers included renowned expert on inter-professional education Emeritus Professor Dr John Gilbert from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

MSU President, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, described MICIPE and ReHID as excellent platforms for holistic sharing of knowledge and expertise in research.

 

 

“Industry collaboration, inter-professional education (IPE), and especially inter-professional practice (IPP) in medical and health care are close to our heart. We have our own International Medical School, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, School of Pharmacy, and MSU Medical Centre; an ecosystem where we can develop IPE and IPP strongly towards the advancement of medical and health care education in Malaysia. The sharing today through the conference is something that we would like to see more of in future."

 

Officiating the MSU MICIPE and ReHID 2019, Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee lauded the MSU initiative in providing an avenue for clinicians, academicians, and health care professionals to design and develop effective instructional as well as collaborative practices.

This inaugural event by MSU brings together professionals from diverse backgrounds; to learn together, from each other and with each other, and bring about effective outcome from the collaboration, for the patient and the wider community.”   

 

Announced at the launch of MICIPE and ReHID 2019 were memorandums of understanding with the Federation of Reproductive Health Associations of Malaysia (FRHAM), Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF), and OSA Technology Sdn Bhd.
