Championing beyond classroom engagement and mobility programmes, Management and Science University (MSU) presents global learning opportunities to inbound and outbound students for the September academic session.
Joining inbound for the Global Leadership Programme (GLP) were 10 students of pharmacy from the University of Immaculate Conception (UIC) in the Philippines, hosted by the School of Pharmacy (SPH). Their activities include visits to the outpatient department and traditional Chinese medicine clinic in the MSU Medical Centre, community pharmacy, outreach activities, as well as taking part in the MSU MyDay 2024 Opening Ceremony.
Embarking on outbound programmes were the students from SPH, the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE), and the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP).
A total of eight students from SPH's Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology (Hons) ventured into GLP at the International of Society Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) in Bangkok, Thailand. They visited Advanced Theraphy Medicinal Products (ATMP) facilities at the King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the King Chulalongkorn University.
For the Education in Singapore, FISE sent 12 students to GLP. They visited James Cook University and conducted community service at Darul Ehsan Girls Orphanage.
Rufaydah Maszlee from Bachelor in Economics and Finance (Hons) at FBMP, Ameerah Iwani Mohd Sofian from Bachelor in Creative Multimedia (Hons) at FISE, and Mariam Jasmeen Ahmad Fuad from Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) at SPH are currently pursuing their Global Mobility Programme (GMP) at the University of Dundee in Scotland, United Kingdom.
Starting her second year at the University of Dundee, Mariam is optimistic about the journey ahead.
“I anticipate the learning experience to be somewhat familiar yet uniquely different, offering me the opportunity to carve out my niche. Their teaching and learning methods vary from what I am familiar with, and I am eager to integrate and apply these insights at MSU.”
“Since secondary school, chemistry has captivated me, and pursuing pharmacy aligns perfectly with my goal of enhancing people's health and well-being. I aspire to contribute meaningfully to this vast industry,” added Mariam.
Sponsored by the MSU Foundation (Yayasan MSU), Rufaydah, Ameerah, and Mariam will experience a comprehensive mobility programme till the middle of December 2024.
