Best students from MSU's graduating Class of 2019.
The cream of the crop, these graduates each received a special award from MSU. Besides the trophy, the five categories of awards also present scholarships.
For the Chancellor Gold Medal Award, the prizes are three thousand Ringgit in cash and eighteen thousand Ringgit in scholarship. The two winners of the President Award each gets two thousand Ringgit in cash and fifteen thousand Ringgit in scholarship. The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award rewards the recipient with one thousand Ringgit in cash and fifteen thousand Ringgit in scholarship.
Winners of the Academic Award receive one thousand Ringgit each in cash and ten thousand Ringgit in scholarship. Industry Award winners receive five thousand Ringgit in scholarship and a gift from industry sponsors.
CHANCELLOR GOLD MEDAL AWARD RECIPIENT |
Chancellor Gold Medal Award winner Afiq Rasidulakmar received his secondary education at a local high school in Shah Alam. He registered on the Bachelor in Computer Science (Honours) programme at MSU in September 2015, and went on to display excellence both inside and outside the classroom. He made the Dean’s List every semester and the President’s List every year, and received an A for all the Personal Enrichment courses he took throughout his time at MSU.
His leadership abilities, too, was amply exemplified. He assumed directorship of the MSU Malaysia Day Convoy 2017 to Putrajaya and the Digital Literacy Programme 2017 at MSU’s Darul Sakinah orphanage; joint directorship of the Ideas Regeneration Expo (iREx) 2017 by the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE), FISE Career Day 2017, and ERP Consultant Career Industry Talk; and also assistant leadership of the Wellness Physiotherapy Exercises team on the ‘Love from MSU’ programme for the Malaysia Book of Records.
MSU Diploma in Physiotherapy
The committee member of the Sports Fiesta 2017 by FISE’s Information Sciences and Computing (ISC) department is an avid participant of community wellness programmes. Having volunteered at the 9th ASEAN Paralympic Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, he was inspired to keep serving society and especially the less fortunate through MSU’s extensive community engagement for the focus social groups of orphans, urban poor, and the indigenous.
Committed to his causes, active in all his participations, and an academic reference point to his friends, Afiq is now a Test Automation Engineer at Photobook Worlwide in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur. The alumnus is returning to his alma mater to progress to MSU’s Master in Computer Science (by Research), having registered on the July 2019 intake.
