Management and Science University (MSU) is a global university focused on developing holistic, balanced, well-rounded graduates. Soft skills development as well as appreciation of heritage and culture are emphasized parallel with the pursuit of academic excellence.

Exploring management techniques, networking with international peers, and building intercultural competency abroad in Indonesia on MSU’s Global Leadership Programme (GLP) to Jakarta recently were students from Bachelor in Event Management (Honours) and Bachelor in Patisserie Arts (Honours).

Their Jakarta GLP kicked off with a visit to Museum MACAN (the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara); Indonesia’s first museum to offer a collection of modern and contemporary Indonesian and international arts. Next on their visiting list was Pancasila University, where the students took the opportunity to make new friends among the staff and fellow students.

The MSUrians delighted their newfound friends with a performance of a Malaysian traditional dance called Endang from Negeri Sembilan, before concluding the visit with a campus tour.

 

 

 

The students also made an industry visit to Indonesia Convention Center (ICC). Their third day in Jakarta saw them heading to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and marvelling at its display of miniature provincial houses, arts, and handicrafts.

Community engagement followed, with activities for orphans at Yayasan Yatim Piatu Ma’had Darul Aytam Al-Utsmany including futsal and colouring, helping with housekeeping, and presenting donated goodies.

 

 

Event management student Nori Harizwan Ibrahim expressed excitement at the leadership opportunity provided by community engagement.
