Armani is a unisex name of several origins. It means ‘warrior’ in Italian, ‘wish’ or ‘desire’ in Arabic, and ‘harmony’ in Swahili. In her entrepreneurial endeavour, Nuralia Armani Muhammad Taqdir is a warrior of sorts; championing peace, wishing a harmonizing of body and mind on everyone.

As a student of Diploma in Management at MSU College, Nuralia Armani is making good use of her learning experiences within the entrepreneurship ecosystem of Management and Science University (MSU). Combining her desire to create good skincare and jobs, she began making beauty masks from natural seaweed in her Kedah hometown of Sungai Petani.

“The idea came about when I realized that many skincare lines contain harmful chemicals. I wanted to change that through my preference for organic products,” she explains.

Starting it all was not easy.

“I was a full-time student juggling classes and campus activities and I didn’t have any assistants to help me out. I did everything on my own; from taking orders, packaging, marketing, and promotion, to dealing with vendors and customers. In this respect, the personal competency enrichment courses offered at the College really helped. They built both my skills and the business.”

From January to June 2020, Armani Beauty Care recorded over RM80,000 in revenue. What’s next for its 20-year-old entrepreneur is to begin expanding the company's product range and extending a helping hand.

“The most important lesson I learned at MSU is one of developing myself to the fullest potential. Becoming an entrepreneur isn’t about the profits but all about the benefits. It’s good to have something to help others with; and in helping people earn their living, I hope also to put peace in their pocket.”
