Diploma in Nursing

Entry Requirements

1. SPM or Equivalent Qualifications:

You must have passed SPM minimum THREE (3) credits.

These credits must include:

• • • Bahasa Melayu
    • Mathematics (Elementary or Modern or Additional)
    • Science (Science or Biology or Physics or Applied Science)

And

• • • Pass in any TWO (2) subjects includes English.

OR

• Pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
• Possess Assistant Nurse Certificate/ Community Nurse Certificate
• Registered with the MNB
• Possess current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for nurses from MNB.
• Minimum THREE (3) years clinical experience.

2. Vocational Certificate (SVM)

You must have obtained at least minimum C for the subjects.

    • Mathematics
    • Science
    • English
    • Any TWO (2) subjects academics or vocational

3. Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)

You must pass at least FOUR (4) subjects at Maqbul Level and combination with:

• • • TWO (2) subjects in Arabic, ONE (1) subject in Syariah and ONE (1) subject in Usuluddin; OR
    • ONE (1) subject in Arabic, TWO (2) subjects in Syariah and ONE (1) subject in Usuluddin; OR
    • ONE (1) subject in Arabic, ONE (1) subject in Syariah and TWO (2) subjects in Usuluddin; OR
    • TWO (2) subjects in Arabic, and TWO (2) subjects in Syariah; OR
    • TWO (2) subjects in Arabic, and TWO (2) subjects in Usuluddin; OR
    • TWO (2) subjects in Syariah and TWO (2) subjects in Usuluddin; OR
    • THREE (3) subjects in Arabic and ONE (1) subject in Syariah; OR
    • THREE (3) subjects in Arabic, and ONE (1) subject in Usuluddin; OR
    • ONE (1) subject in Arabic and THREE (3) subjects in Usuluddin; OR
    • ONE (1) subject in Arabic and THREE (3) subjects in Usuluddin.

4. International Candidates

Pass in International Language Testing System (IELST) with an Overall Band Score of minimum 5.5

OR

• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
  • TOEFL Paper Based Test (TOEFL PBT) a minimum score of 515
  • TOEFL Computer Based Test (TOEFL CBT) a minimum score of 215
  • TOEFL Internet Based Test (TOEFL IBT) a minimum score of 80
• Cambridge Advanced English (CAE)
• Cambridge Proficiency English (CPE)
• Pearson Test of English (PTE)

5. Health Status

• All candidates MUST be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner within ONE (1) MONTH from commencement of the nursing programme.
• A person with any of the following shall be disqualified from entry into a nursing programme.
  • Serious physical or mental illness, and/ or
  • Serious communicable disease
• Candidates MUST not have any physical disabilities or impaired senses that hinder nursing dexterity.

Fees

RM65,000 - RM70,000

*The stated fees are estimation on overall completion of the program. In any cases where there are credit exemptions, offered rebates or approval of scholarship applications, there will be considerable reduction in the fees
