Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC) Awards 2017, Excellence in Quality International Education and Outstanding Contribution to International Education
MSU received the double distinctions from UK accreditation body ASIC at the organization’s 10th-anniversary inaugural international conference held in Kuala Lumpur.
Asia Pacific Brands Foundation, BrandLaureate BestBrands Award 2016-2017
MSU has also been recognized for Excellent Corporate Branding in Leadership and Human Capital Development. The award for Best in Education for Leadership and Human Capital Development was presented to MSU by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation.
Enterprise Asia, Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award (APEA) 2017 Malaysia
For his entrepreneurial leadership providing equal access to education, and his successful creation of the University’s entrepreneur ecosystem, MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab. Yajid receives the region’s most prestigious award showcasing entrepreneurial excellence.
Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE), Most Entrepreneurial Award (MEA) 2016-2017
The title of Most Entrepreneurial Private University was won by MSU in the MEA 2016-2017 Institutional category. A recognition of the University’s embedded entrepreneur culture, the award criteria also included the conduciveness of the University’s environment in supporting enterprise and entrepreneurship, the leadership driving the entrepreneurship, and how far the University’s vision aligns with entrepreneurship. The impact of the University’s entrepreneurial initiatives was also measured, across institutional and national metrics as well as the wider environment.
Malaysia Tourism Council Gold Awards 2017, Gold Award School of Tourism and Hospitality
MSU’s contribution to national economic growth in the tourism sector is acclaimed with a Gold Award School of Tourism and Hospitality certification presented by the Malaysia Tourism Council.
4As Malaysia, Putra Brand Awards 2017
For education and learning, the Malaysian public voted MSU another preferred-choice university. Also known as the People’s Choice, the award was presented to MSU by 4As Malaysia.
International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2017, 4 Gold and 1 Special Award
MSU makes the world a better place with innovations to daily-living essentials and the world of animation at the 28th ITEX.
International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA) 2017, Gold
Innovative animation technique by MSU wowed the judges.
MyASEAN Youth Award 2017
When Nur Farhana Nadirah Hassan realized that the transformation she had envisioned for the indigenous of Tohor did not last, the MSUrian took it on herself to pursue the desired long-term effect. Past her Bachelor in Finance (Honours) and the Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award she received on graduation day, she continued her voluntary work. Her efforts culminated in the Youth Award for the social impact her Tohor Revolution project potentially brings to other rural or post-disaster areas.

MSUrians Natasya Syahirah Azman Azif and Ku Muhammad Amin Ku Khalif from the Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP) are champions of the trading floor. The duo forming Team TA bested teams of Malaysian public and private universities to emerge the winner of the annual CIMB regional competition.

First time into the global rankings and MSU goes straight to 217th place among the more than 11,000 Asian institutions ranked, simultaneously placing itself in the top 1.8% among the region’s best universities.

A quality standard for higher education institutions in Malaysia, SETARA also measures an institution’s closeness to industry, which is embedded into MSU to keep learning contemporary and teaching abreast with the latest developments and practices. The SETARA Tier-5 rating to MSU translates into Excellent on the national rating system by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.

Asia Pacific Institute of Events Management, First International Centre of Excellence in Malaysia
The international standard of MSU’s event management programmes along with its teaching and learning facilities impressed the Asia Pacific Institute of Events Management enough to earn the University its first-in-Malaysia distinction among APIEM’s network of international centres of excellence.
