Management and Science University (MSU) has launched the MSU Environmental Sustainability Project (MESP) in support of UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Gracing and officiating the event was the Raja Muda of Selangor, His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al Haj. 



 

Present were MSU President, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, and MSU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.




 

Themed “Nature Appreciation”, the programme celebrated the International Day of Forests ahead of the day's 21st March annual date. All faculties and departments were involved, as well as partners of industry, governmental departments and agencies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).


Describing the programme as an MSU initiative at raising awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability, Professor Tan Sri Dato' Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid expressed pride in efforts shown by MSU students and staff alike.
 

 


“The level of concern on environmental sustainability and the action taken being one step ahead reflect the balanced, holistic, well-rounded excellence of our future graduates.”
 

 


The launch of MESP witnessed the exchange of MoUs between MSU and Pertubuhan Perlindungan Khazanah Alam Malaysia, Yayasan Anak Warisan Alam, Yayasan Hijau, Kelab Warisan Sungai Klang, Dorken Reef Resources, and N.A.Z. Medical Supplies Sdn Bhd.
 

 


Anticipated areas of collaboration are community engagement, research and development, knowledge transfer, and mobility.

Strategic partnerships were formed with the 11th Infantry Brigade of the Malaysian Armed Forces, Tourism Selangor, Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Selangor, Taman Botani Shah Alam, Women in Governance & Technology Association of Malaysia, Azam Perkasa Resources Sdn Bhd, Bumi Kenyalang Travel and Tours, MAEKO Mentari Alam EKO (M) Sdn Bhd, Dorsett Grand Subang, and Cerna Minda.
