Management and Science University (MSU) played the 2018 host for Festival Malam Kebudayaan Indonesia, an annual activity by Rumah Budaya Indonesia (RBI) organized by the Education and Cultural Attache (Atdikbud) of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur.





The Indonesian Cultural Night Festival's third edition, 'Festival Malam Budaya Nusantara 2018', was a collaboration by Atdikbud with Pensosbud (Fungsi Penerangan, Sosial dan Budaya), Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) and MSU Indonesian Society (MIS).

Present at the MSU Performing Arts Theatre (PAT) where the Indonesian Cultural Night Festival was held were MSU President, Professor Tan Sri Dato' Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab. Yajid; Indonesia's Ambassador to Malaysia Rusdi Kirana; Indonesia's Ambassador Representative, Krishna KU Hannan; Indonesia's Education and Cultural Attache, Professor Dr Ir Ari Purbayanto; Indonesia's Ministry of Information Coordinator, Counselor Cahaya Sumirat; SIKL Principal, Drs H Agustinus Suharto; and Malaysia's National Department for Culture and Arts Director, Salehuddin Md Salleh.

Alluding to the shared Nusantara heritage as a binder of relations between Malaysia and Indonesia in his reference to the theme 'Warisan Budaya Nusantara Perekat Hubungan Dua Negara', Ambassador Rusdi Kirana expressed his appreciation of MSU's role in supporting goodwill between the two countries, as well as his hope for close and continued engagement especially in the field of art and culture.

MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dr Shukri described the cultural engagement as relevant and important to maintaining bilateral diplomacy.







"Our shared heritage culture can be an important tool in building cooperation between Malaysia and Indonesia. Together with the collaborative and cultural framework, mobility between our two countries can also contribute to building competitive human capital as well as future leaders of our nations."

Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur performed instrumental music on the gamelan and angklung as well as dance and fashion shows.
