About the Course

Bachelor in Broadcasting aims to present the nature of programming that exists in mass media and prepare students for careers in the rapidly changing, fast-paced electronic media communications industry. Broad spectrum of broadcasting areas, including script writing, multimedia creation, video shooting and editing, audio recording, directing and producing programmes to inform and entertain. Students learn key aspects of writing, producing and directing content for broadcast communication so they can work in fields such as news, entertainment, production, videography, directing and editing.

Entry Requirements

i. Passed Sijil Tinggil Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent with a minimum of Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in 2 subjects and honors in English at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent; or

ii. Passed Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum of Yajjid Grade and honors in English at SPM level or equivalent; or


iii. Passed Diploma (Level 4, MOH) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and English honors at SPM level or equivalent; or


iv. Passed Diploma (Level 4, MOH) in Media and Communication or equivalent; or


v. Passed matriculation / Foundation or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and honors in English at SPM level or equivalent; or


vi. Passed Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of Grade B in 5 subjects including English; or


vii. Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Malaysian government.


For international students, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 500 or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 5.0 or equivalent is required.


Note:

The requirements for English honors at the sPM level for candidates (i), (ii), (iii) and (v) can be waived if the qualification contains English subjects and the achievement is equivalent to/more than the honors requirements of the subject at the SPM level. (subject equivalence is the responsibility of the HEP and the HEP must have a strong internal policy/ procedure in assessing the equivalence).
