About the Course

A career in counselling revolves around guiding and encouraging individuals to manage changes in their lives in accomplishing mental health, wellness, career and personal goals. The curriculum of the MSU honours degree programme in counselling and guidance factors the realities of local culture and moral values in helping relationships, equipping you for multicultural counselling, drug abuse counselling, and industrial counselling. The emphasis given to your formative and summative assessments and regular feedback from your lecturers will ensure that you have a sound foundation in this discipline. The two practicum experiences in this programme are focused on giving you the most exposure in counselling in various environments ranging from schools to hospitals and organizations.

Entry Requirements

i. Pass STPM or equivalent with at least:

Pass with Grade C in 3 subjects including General Studies/ General Papers; or
Pass subjects with Grade C in 2 subjects including General Studies/ General Papers and Grade D in other 2 subjects; OR
ii. Pass A-Level with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in 2 subjects; and

Credits in Mathematics and Science and pass English subject at SPM level; OR
iii. Pass The South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with at least minimum score of 65-75%; OR

iv. Pass Canadian Pre-University Programmes (CPU) with atleast minimum score of 80% for; OR

v. Pass STAM (level Jayyid); OR

vi. Pass UEC with at least Grade B in 5 subjects; OR

vii. Pass Matriculation/Foundation from any public universities/private universities/institutions which is allowed to offer foundation programs with minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR

viii. Diploma in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.00; or

ix. Any other qualifications recognized as equivalent

Fees

RM40,000 - RM45,000

*The stated fees are estimation on overall completion of the program. In any cases where there are credit exemptions, offered rebates or approval of scholarship applications, there will be considerable reduction in the fees
