About the Course

The MSU programme leading up to the award of a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering is an interdisciplinary degree with a strong emphasis on research. It prepares you to demonstrate academic leadership, independence, creativity and innovation in undertaking research. The advanced training you receive, while building your expertise in a specialist area, opens you to a wide range of acquirable and transferable skills. Strategic thinking and thought-provoking case studies are part and parcel of postgraduate work, providing real world insight to students with a higher level of practical problem solving abilities. The doctoral thesis will be authoritative in its contribution to knowledge in your particular field and admits you to the community of engineering scholars.

Entry Requirements
Prospective applicants must have a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification as approved by MSU Senate.
 
International applicants must also score 500 in TOEFL or 5.0 in IELTS. 
 
Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering (PIE) is a research programme by the MSU School of Graduate Studies (SGS).
