About the Course

Bachelor in Music Technology aims to develop your musical talent by providing you with the technical skills associated with creating music, producing and recording sound. You will compose music and arrange it, also learn the elements of music production including surround sound and recording techniques, and specialised skills such as film scoring and video production. The class sessions are set at our state of the art recording studio, guided by our lecturers and industry professionals, experts who developed our curriculum in line with current industry trends. You will graduate with a balance of artistic development and creative skills with technical expertise, attained through coursework as well as internship.

Entry Requirements

You need to pass STPM/A-level with at least a C (2.00 CGPA) in two (2) subjects; or pass STAM with Jayyid; or pass Diploma (MQF Level 4) in a related field, with at least 2.00 CGPA, from any institution of higher learning; or pass Matriculation/Foundation/Asasi with 2.00 CGPA from any institution of higher learning permitted to offer foundation programmes; or pass South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with a score of at least 65%-70%; or pass Canadian Pre-University Program (CPU) with a score of at least 60%; or pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least a B in five (5) subjects; or other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia. 

Bachelor in Music Technology is a three-and-a-half-year career-focused industry-developed programme of MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA).
