Management and Science University (MSU) student Thivvyatracyny Mohana Kannan is a recipient of this year’s Young Investigator Award from the Asia Pacific Clinical Nutrition Society (APCNS).

 

The Bachelor in Nutrition (Hons) student at MSU’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS) secured the award at the APCNS’s 13th Asia Pacific Conference on Clinical Nutrition (APCCN).

 

Among her competitors at the APCCN 2022 were other young investigators from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (National University of Malaysia), Universiti Putra Malaysia, Manipal University Jaipur, Qingdao University, Shanghai Jia Tong University, and Hungkuang University.

 

The award for Thivvyatracyny’s research into ‘The Association between Psychological Well-Being and Emotional Eating with Weight Status among Malaysian Youths during the COVID-19 Pandemic’ – which had been supervised by Dr Tan Seok Tyug – follows on her other achievement of Best Oral Presenter at MSU’s 18th iMPaCHS.
