Management and Science University (MSU) concluded its inaugural MSU Ethnic Music Festival (METFEST) with a concert at the MSU Chancellor Hall in Shah Alam Section 13.

 

 

Showcasing the Sounds of Malaysia, featuring traditional musical instruments of the Malay Peninsula and Borneo, METFEST 2023 is part of the MSU International Music, Arts, and Culture Convention (IMACC) organized by MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) in collaboration with Istana Budaya (Palace of Culture) Kuala Lumpur.

 

 

Sounds of Malaysia was performed by SHCA students of Bachelor in Music Technology (Hons) and Diploma in Music Technology; members of the MSU Performing Arts and Culture Club (PACC), MSU visiting professor Masue Kato of Japan; Malaysian artists Ernie Zakri, Waris, and Rojer Kajol; and Istana Budaya Malaysia Traditional Orchestra.

 

 

Among the guests were Public Services Department Director General Dato’ Dr Zulkapli Mohamad, who was received by MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid, and officiated the concert’s launch.

 

 

Also present were Saudi Arabia Cultural Attache to Malaysia Dr Fahad Alshemmeri, Bahrain Chargé D'affaires to Malaysia Mr Rashad Farooq Mohamed Saleh Al Shaikh, Brunei Attache (Education and Culture) Mrs Megawati Karim, and MSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.
