As members of its Class of 2021 took a step towards the future, Management and Science University (MSU) paused to remember two among them.

 

Filzah Hazwani Muksir, lost to COVID-19 on July 24, 2021, was to receive her Bachelor in Culinary Arts (Hons) degree at the 28th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University. She had completed her Diploma in Culinary Arts at MSU’s School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA), where she returned in September 2017 to progress to degree studies.

 

Deveandren Selvanayagam, who was to graduate with a Bachelor in Graphic Design (Hons) at the 28th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University, died October 27, 2021 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He had completed his Diploma in Graphic Design studies at MSU’s Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering (FISE) before beginning his degree programme in September 2018.

 

A posthumous ceremony was held prior to the seventh session of the four-day 28th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU) to deliver the degrees to the MSUrians’ next-of-kin.

 

Present were Allahyarhamah Filzah’s parents Mr Muksir Saleh and Mrs Marliasi Abd Kadir, as well as the late Deveandren’s parents Mr Selvanayagam Vengadasalam and Mrs Sheila Velayutham.

 

 

Presenting the degrees was MSU President, Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid; witnessed by MSU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abdul Hamid.

 

Management and Science University (MSU) is the 2021 recipient of the Inclusivity Award for Equality in Education from the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC), United Kingdom.
