MSU iREX Rules & Regulations


  1. Eligibility
    • All currently enrolled university students are eligible to participate in the exhibition.
    • Students may participate individually or in teams.

  2. Registration
    • Registration deadline is 15th December 2024.
    • Complete the registration form with the project title, team members, project description, and any special requirements.
    • Late registrations will not be accepted.

  3. Project Guidelines
    All projects must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Posters: size of A1 and the display easel will be provided.
    • Prototypes: Must fit within a 3' x 3' space and should not pose safety hazards.
    • Presentations: Limited to 10 minutes with a 5-minute Q&A session.

  4. Display and Presentation
    • Tables, posters, and presentation spaces will be provided by the MSU iREX organizer.
    • Participants are responsible for setting up and arranging their projects.
    • Power outlets and extension cords will be available.

  5. Time and Date
    • The exhibition will take place on [03rd and 04th December 2024] from [9:00 AM] to [5:00 PM].
    • Participants must arrive for setup on 02nd December 2024 from [4:00 PM] to [5:00 PM] and are responsible for teardown immediately after the event.

  6. Judging Criteria
    Projects will be evaluated based on:

    1. Creativity and Innovation (30 points):
      • Originality and uniqueness of the project idea.
      • Innovative approaches and solutions.

    2. Execution and Presentation (25 points):
      • Clarity and effectiveness of project presentation.
      • Quality of visual aids, such as posters, prototypes, or multimedia materials.

    3. Relevance to Category (20 points):
      • How well the project aligns with the chosen category.
      • Demonstrated understanding of the subject matter.

    4. Technical Proficiency (15 points):
      • Skill in project development, execution, and technical aspects.
      • Effective use of tools, technologies, or methodologies.

    5. Impact and Practicality (10 points):
      • Potential real-world applications or significance.
      • Consideration of practicality and feasibility.

  7. Judging Process
    • A panel of qualified judges will be selected by the organizing committee that will be industry and academia.
    • Judges will score projects based on the established criteria.
    • In case of ties or disputes, the decision of the chief judge is final.

  8. Awards and Prizes
    • Awards will be presented to outstanding projects in each category.
    • Prizes will be announced during the closing ceremony.

  9. Code of Conduct
    • All participants and attendees are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully.
    • Any disruptive or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

  10. Safety
    • Projects involving hazardous materials or equipment must comply with safety regulations.
    • Safety measures will be enforced, and participants must follow them.

  11. Photography and Filming
    • Attendees are encouraged to take photos and share them on social media.
    • Participants' consent for photography and filming will be assumed.

  12. Intellectual Property
    • Participants retain ownership of their project's intellectual property rights.
    • In cases of potential commercialization, participants should seek legal advice.

  13. Disqualification
    Grounds for disqualification may include non-compliance with rules, plagiarism, or unethical behavior.

  14. Communication
    All communication related to the exhibition will be sent via email and posted on the official event website.
