Aid of the needy through zakat is the second of three targets among MSU Foundation’s efforts in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). Yesterday, 200 orphans from 20 orphanages experienced Ihya Ramadan 2023 at Management and Science University (MSU).
Treated to iftar at the MSU Chancellor Hall, the orphans also received zakat duit raya of a hundred Ringgit each from MSU president Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.
Among the orphanages receiving zakat of three thousand Ringgit each were seven that are new to Ihya Ramadan at MSU; Teratak Nur Barakah, Rumah Penyayang Ulin Nuha, Rumah Amal Limpahan Kasih, Rumah Tumpangan dan Sekolah Anak-Anak Yatim dan Miskin Sg Pinang, Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Al-Munirah, Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Pendidikan Al-Mahabbah, and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur (PEKEAS).
One orphanage has been a guest since 2010, two have been guests since 2011, four since 2015, two since 2017, two since 2018, and two since 2019.
They are, respectively, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Al-Nasuha, Rumah Kasih Harmoni, Rumah Kebajikan dan Bimbingan At-Taqwa, Rumah Amal Cahaya Kasih Bestari, Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim dan Asnaf As-Solihin, Rumah Kasih Sayang (Khidmat Baitul Mahabbah), Pusat Jagaan Amal Asyura, Pusat Jagaan Baitul Hidayah, Madrasah Anak Yatim dan Tahfiz Quran Hashimiah, Rumah Perlindungan dan Anak Yatim Safiyah, Pertubuhan Amal dan Kebajikan Anak-Anak Tersisih Selangor (PAKAT’s), Rumah Amal Budi Bistari, and Pertubuhan Pusat Jagaan Rumah Amal Titian Baiti Al-Jannah.
The orphans also interacted with MSU students in a special activity organized by MSU’s Student and Career Development (SCD) Department at the MSU Performing Arts Theatre (PAT), and joined in on Maghrib prayer at the MSU Islamic Cultural Centre (ICC).
