Hawa Nabilah Jasmey was four when she started helping her grandmother sell nasi lemak. In high school, she sold kuih-muih to her classmates. Now on the Diploma in Management programme at MSU's Faculty of Business Management and Professional Studies (FBMP), she is jumpstarting her business with help from Malaysia’s Most Entrepreneurial Private University and Asia's first internationally recognized entrepreneurial university.

The 20-year-old had started Nabyla Jasmy Collections at the end of 2019, in a move to improve her family’s living after the death of their father.

A committed student entrepreneur at Management and Science University (MSU), Hawa Nabilah is eligible to apply for assistance from a revolving seed fund of the MSU Jump$tart programme. She may also promote and place her products at MSU’s U-Plaza, U-Shop, U-Gift, and The Hub; all at Level 2 on campus at the University in Shah Alam Section 13.

The opportunity and facility are open to all MSUpreneurs, in line with the entrepreneur culture of Management and Science University (MSU); where job-creator mentality is developed side-by-side with job-seeker competencies across all academic programmes.

Whilst it is Hawa Nabilah’s big dream to market her products internationally in due course, for now she hopes to expand locally and use all the skills learned at MSU’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship Advancement and Development (LEAD) Institute.

Especially wishing to extend a helping hand to those who have lost their job to COVID-19, the founder of Nabyla Food House and Nabyla Jasmy Collections, maker of Queen Quegg Cornflakes and designer of hijabs, encourages joining her business as agent or stockist.

“Success does not come for free, so we should learn to embrace failure. Planning and management skills have helped me overcome problems. Always challenging myself to be more creative, consistent, and up to date keeps me improving the quality of my products and sustaining my business,” advises Hawa Nabilah Jasmey.
