Management and Science University (MSU) School of Hospitality and Creative Arts (SHCA) presented three main collections during the MSU Fashion Week 2022.

 

A total of 64 garments by over 20 up-and-coming young designers went onto the runway in an international showcase held at MSU Chancellor Hall in Shah Alam Section 13.

 

The UEDA 2021 Collection themed Below the Sea presented designers Jaf Farisha Ariana Jaf Faizul, Nurafiqah Aizah Mohd Fazid, Sanim Amani Addini, Nur Ain Masitah Mahyani, Diew Hui Ting, Zahirah Zulkhairi, Siti Mardhiah Roslan, and Nur Fadzlin Kasmuri.

 

 

The Menswear and Fashion Design Realization Collection, themed Malaysian Chronicles, presented 23 garments by 13 designers; who, along with their inspiration for the designs, comprised Diew Huei Ting with Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad, Dharunish Krishnan with Baba Nyonya and Bubu, Nur Amirah Mamat with Bahulu and Saxophone P. Ramlee, Nurul Asyirah Ali with Hikayat Mahsuri (Silat) and Kek Lapis Sarawak, Azmena Yasmeen Mohd Azam with Wau Jala Budi and Bingka Ubi, Padungraksart Fatima with Roti Jala and Acuan Motif Kuih Kapit, Nurazrena Alim with Orang-Orang and Pokok Banyan (Wayang Kulit Kelantan), Nur Azreena Zainuddin with Rukun Negara and J. W. W. Birch Pasir Salak, Nur Sarah Syahida Sahren with Tarian Kuda Kepang and Naga Tasik Chini, Amira Dayana Faizah Azlan with Anyaman Bakul Melayu, Nur Yasmin Ruslan with Kubu Rentap and Perkakas Padi Kedah, Mohammad Shahrul Mahisan with Kellie’s Castle Perak and Malay Folklore, and Ronald Henry Juak with Wings Rock Band.

 

 

The Graduate Collection presented a total of nine Final-Year-Project garments comprising five designed by students of Bachelor in Fashion Design with Marketing (Hons) and four designed by students of Diploma in Fashion Design.

 

From the bachelor’s degree programme came the designs of Batik Sarong by Jaf Farisha Ariana Jaf Faizul, Chinese Oriental by Nur Fadzlin Kasmuri, Warna-Warni Malaysia by Sanim Amani Addini, Athena Greek Goddess by Nurafiqah Aizah Mohd Fazid, and Shibori by Siti Mardhiah Roslan; whilst from the diploma programme came Chinese Lantern by Pavithra Rau Murugesrao, Sarawak Motif by Dea Exsa Suparman Parto Tain, Mangkuk Tingkat by Nurizatul Yiezam, and Nasi Tumpang by Izzwan Husaini Abdul Kilap.

 

 

The MSU Fashion Week 2022 runway showcase was accompanied by contemporary music with traditional orchestra and instrument gamelan and gendang arrangements.

 

Performers in the traditional section were Bachelor in Music Technology (Hons) students Jesuvan Jeyaraj Paul, Nuriffah Hidayah Mohd Nazri, Nur Alisha Akashah Abd Rahmat, Nur Hasha Shamira Abdul Halim, Muhammad Hariz Danial Che Ahmad Kamerol Hisham, Jashvina Mahendran, Yong Jun Xian, and Nuraqmal Ramadhan Mohd Jefry; also Diploma in Music Technology students Rachel Kew Khai Xuan, Natania Sagain, Raajachelvan Ilanchelvan, Kaayle Johannes Anthony Justin, Lu Hui Hong, Chok Jun Keat, Ellisha Hardy Imran Hardy, Rohaqhimy Aizzat Rohaizat, Danish Iskandar Muhamad Hatta, Azraf Faizz Azrul Izham, Sidi Ahmad, and Anas Hakimi Mohamad Zamri.
