Management and Science University (MSU) student athletes bagged fourteen medals at the recent MASISWA Track and Field Championship 2023.
Three gold medals went to Kothanayagi Sivakumar of MSU College Seremban; for Women’s 5,000m (in which she timed 21 minutes 22.57 seconds), Women’s 1,500m (5m 36.39s), and Women’s 800m (2m 40.44s) events.
Four silver medals were bagged by Bachelor in Law and Commerce (Hons) student Mohd Nur Izzad Hizam for 110m Men’s Hurdle (20.27s), Diploma in Fashion Design student Nur Liyana Afrina Ahmad Tarmizi for 100m Women’s Hurdle (21.65s), Diploma in Computer Forensic student Arun Nadarajah for 3,000m Men’s Steeplechase, and Foundation (Biological / Health Science) student Benny Koay Hean Seng for Men’s Discus (23.94m).
MSU’s 4x100m Women’s and 4x100m Mixed teams also bagged a silver medal each, whilst the 4x400m Mixed team bagged a bronze.
Other bronze medallists and their achievements are Bachelor in Outdoor Recreation (Hons) student Nur Athirah Ahmad Bakti for Women’s Javelin (21.71m), Bachelor in Forensic Science (Hons) student Yong Qiong Hui for Women’s 100m (14.393s), as well as Diploma in Accounting students Darshini Gopi for Women’s 5,000m Walk (48m 55.15s) and Muhammad Hafizzul Eiman Khairul Amri for Men’s Long Jump (6.08m).
